Original Antique Victorian Cast Iron Umbrella stand RD marked for 1868 made in the United Kingdom .
A good Victorian cast iron stick stand in the style of Christopher Dresser. Cast Registered design mark for 1868 to base. There is another RD mark on the back which is worn and unreadable .

Dresser worked for the Coalbrookdale foundry from 1867 into the 1880s he believed it possible to bring the the qualities of wrought iron work into the cheaper production of cast iron work. He designed a series of hall stands umbrella stands and garden furniture.

In good overall condition with no cracks or breaks.
