Such a rare opportunity to acquire a working Stratton 'Musica' with a delightful enamel ballet scene on the lid. The powder box is in excellent condition & it comes complete with the original presentation box, docket, puff & sifter. The enamel scene is in very good condition. Originally this scene was taken from a photograph by the society photographer Baron & it bears his signature. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The bevelled mirror is excellent & it gives a perfect reflection. The original sticker is in place on the mirror detailing how to activate the self-opening inner lid which works perfectly every time. The stopper sticker is also in place stating 'LIFT STOPPER TO PLAY DO NOT OVERWIND.' Turn the winder and pull up the stopper and the musical box plays its enchanting tune, which is Lara's Theme (Doctor Zhivago)
The tune plays beautifullly. This is a sound little musical box that plays well. This Stratton 'Musica' measures 3 1/4" X 2 3/4" & weighs 173.4 grams.
