A quality, finely finished French Kingwood and satinwood inlaid cylinder top desk c1910. The desk has kingwood panels bordered with satinwood and is cross banded and has chequered inlaid stringing. The cylinder top is marquetry inlaid with stylised floral decoration in contrasting colours – opening to reveal a fully fitted interior. The beautifully fitted interior having three drawers and two cupboards with a centre pigeon hole, all with marquetry inlay. Slide-out writing surface. The desk is raised on tapered out stretched legs terminating in brass moulded feet. Fully finished in the round for free-standing in a room. Matching original pulls to roll top front. Working lock and key to the tambour front. Original finish throughout. rnThis desk is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use. Quality sound construction. Smoothly running cylinder top and drawers.
