Art Nouveau Copper Tray Joseph Sankey Antique
For your consideration this fine tray Art Nouveau tray with the most stunning decoration.
The tray was manufactured by the well known Bilston metalworkers, Joseph Sankey & Son - to the reverse of the piece is one of the numerous marks they used and it reads:
Made in England
JS&S
Solid Copper
The tray is round in form with a deep recessed centre part with a surrounding flange.
The flange is decorated with repousee, highly stylised Art Nouveau flower head motifs, along with wispy scrolls and love hearts.
Width - 31.2 cm.
Condition
The tray is in very good condition with only minor dints to the edge of the tray which is commensurate with age and use.
The photos can probably provide the clearest representation of condition so please examine these carefully.
Please note: antique items for sale may have some wear and marks commensurate with their age which adds to the character of the piece.
