Boot scrapers of this era were placed at the entrances of country homes & farms to help keep the interiors clear of mud.
These scrapers still fulfill the same purpose today.
The oval dish base has 4 drainage holes which could also be used to secure it.
It is in heavy cast iron & unlike many examples has never been painted.
Overall condition is very good, only surface rust as one would expect.
