This is an antique blanket box. An English, pine chest or trunk, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1890.
Delightfully clean example with generous storage within
Displays a desirable aged patina and in superb order
Select pine stocks show bright biscuit hues
Quality craftsmanship with through dovetail joints to corners
Rolled top opens upon internal iron strap hinges
Wide, well-presented interior with useful lidded candle box
Small inset lock to front fascia — untested, key absent
Cast iron drop handles to either end, with a continuous plinth foot to base
Ideal for use as a coffee table or a distinctive storage box
