Four Gothic styled newly upholstered chairs circa 1860 attributed to G. Tilley Birmingham

A beautifully proportioned set of four oak framed early Victorian chairs superbly presented within a Gothic style.
The chairs being attributed to G. Tilley Birmingham circa 1860.
Although they are unmarked, the chairs are an identical design to a known armchair stamped by Tilley and offered online by a well recognised & reputed dealer.
Mine were most likely originally part of the same suite, probably of a 10 or 12 piece set.

The chair back and bases being well stuffed & sprung retaining the original horsehair filling making for a wonderfully firm & comfortable seat.
The soft finish fabric is of a traditional period colour.

The front legs are of typical Gothic style having trefoil Gothic tracery carved brackets and fluted turned legs united by a front foot rail terminating on the original brass and porcelain castors.

Other than dining chairs they will suit as bedroom chairs, hall chairs or bathroom chairs etc.

They are of superb quality in excellent condition
