19th Century Syrian wedding chest with mother of pearl and wire inlay. Heavily decorated overall with Islamic geometric patterns of intricate mother of pearl inlay. The hinged lid opens to reveal a single large compartment and a small box to the right side. Resting upon elevated, carved panels also beautifully inlaid with mother of pearl.
