1930's Salvaged Holophane Copper Pendant Light
A Rare Art Deco Period, Copper and Brass Industrial Pendant Lamp.

This advert is for lamp No. 4.
Dating to c. 1939 (late Art Deco / Interwar period).
Reminiscent of a beehive or whisky still, this extraordinary and unusual lamp has a beautiful form all of its own and a gloriously 'over-engineered' construction, all very typical of the period.
The lamp is original and complete, with the original glass lens / diffuser and, crucially, the inner glass reflector.
The press-moulded glass diffusers are marked 'HOLOPHANE - FRANCE - 1939'. Apart from this, no other maker's labels or marks are present.
Completely original except for the upper-most brass threaded insert (or hanging hook), which I designed myself and had created by a skilled metal-worker. It looks just the part and replaces a long, rusted section of steel from the original factory assembly.
With a more recent conversion to electricity...with a modern screw E27 bulb holder and a very generous length of earthed three-core cabling.
Four lamps are available at the time of writing this (see other listings) enabling a buyer to create a knock-out lighting scheme or feature within the home these would look absolutely superb suspended in a kitchen, a bar, club or games room....or indeed in any interior where a 1930's or interwar industrial chic is a valued aesthetic.
