A superb quality 18th Century French Kingwood desk, the shaped fall having parquetry design, opening to reveal a green leather writing surface decorated with blind and gold tooling, having a lovely fitted interior with various drawers and compartments, the centre of the interior there is a slide which opens to reveal a well, the desk having two short drawers over one long drawer, with original brass engraved swan neck handles, the base, sides and back inlaid and crossbanded with exotic woods, the desk can be freestanding because it’s finished all round, standing on cabriole legs ending with brass feet. The desk is in excellent condition and has a fantastic colour. Circa 1780.
