1837 pattern Brunswick bayonet

An 1837 British Brunswick brass handled bayonet, designed to be mounted on the side of a rifle but could also be used as a short sword. Used by the British army but also extensively used in the American civil war and later by police forces.
This example has got a nice brass handle but does have some pitting to the blade particularly at the ricasso (top) end and towards the tip - see photographs. Some illegible markings on blade. It also does not got a scabbard.
An iconic bayonet at a cheap price due to some pitting on blade
