17thc Joined & Carved Oak Coffer Of Fine Patina
A mid 17th century (circa 1660) joined and carved oak coffer of good proportions and fine original patina.
This coffer consists of a one plank oak top with chip carving to the sides with original steel hinges, the top opening to reveal a good storage space.
This leads down to the front consisting of lunette carved frieze with original steel lock plate to the centre, below three recessed panels each with carved rose decoration and carved uprights with guilloche decoration to either side of the central panel.
The coffer having stile supports to the front with solid plank sides, back and base.
This coffer is in very good original condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
