1796 pattern Light Cavalry sword in its metal scabbard. Iron stirrup hilt with original leather covered wooden grip. Has a broad, curved, single edged blade marked as by Woolley & Deakin. Marked on spine of blade '198'. Numbered on side of guard '18 RI 307'. Stamped on blade with a crown & 4. The steel scabbard has old pitting overall and one or two dents towards the end and a bit of filler towards the base of the scabbard. In generally good sound condition for the age of the sword.

Approximately 98cm and blade 84cm.
