WW2 Africa Star.
This medal was awarded for one or more days service in North Africa, Malta or Egypt between 10th June 1940 and 12th May 1943.
Naval personnel qualified if they were at sea in the Mediterranean, or in harbour in North Africa, Malta or Egypt. Those serving in direct support of Eritrean or Abyssinian campaigns between certain other dates also qualified.
For the RAF the qualification was landing in or flying over an area of Army operational command, or flying over enemy occupied territory in North Africa.
This medal was not engraved with the recipient's name.
This full size medal measures approximately 4 cm (1.5") by 4.5 cm (1.75") excluding the suspension ring.
