Victorian Brass Mounted Mahogany Shotgun Case
We are pleased to offer for sale this Victorian Mahogany Shot Gun Case, which is in very good condition.
The Mahogany case has brass bound corners to the lid, brass inserts around the corners of the case itself, a circular brass recessed carrying handle, two brass bolts each end of the front and a brass escutcheon. The case is not fitted, but has been relatively recently relined in green baize, as shown.
The case was purchased with a key attached to the ring handle, but the lock does not appear to be working. As in our rural area we do not have access to a suitable locksmith, we are enclosing the key with the case, but the lock will require repair or replacement should the purchaser wish it to lock. It is currently kept closed by the two bolts.
Length: 32 1/4" - 81.9cm
Width: 10" - 25.4cm
Height: 3" - 7.6cm
Material: Mahogany
Condition: Very good. The case is is clean, polished condition with the very usual minimal wear consistent with use. Please see the photos which form part of the item description.
