Trappain Sterling Silver Triangular Dish, 1932.
D.J.MASSEY & SON
This is a Sterling Silver Triangular Bead edge dish, which is a replica of a dish found in the Trappain Law Hoard from East Lothian. The hoard was found in 1919 and believed to have been buried in 5AD.
Brook and Son were charged with renovating and preserving the hoard, and were allowed to reproduce certain pieces.
This is one of those pieces, hallmarked Edinburgh 1932, and stamped Brook and Son, 87, Georges St, Edinburgh.
Each side measures 4½ inches, and standing on a plain pedestal foot.
Weight 159.5 grams.
