A superb quality Victorian jam, butter, or sardine dish with spoon, made from silver plate and tortoiseshell.
The makers mark on the dish HS&S within a shield, which is unidentified. However the mark has been used in the 1880's. On the spoon is the maker "Harwood" which although different to the dish the design similarities of the spoon suggests it is original.
There is a ceramic liner in the dish which is removed easily and safely using the holes in the oak base.
The turtle handle of the lid is very well cast and unscrews for ease of cleaning.

The dish measures 6 inches by 5 inches or 15cms by 12.5cms.
The spoon measures 6.75 inches or 17cms long.
