Attractive Royal Doulton stoneware vase in early Art Deco style c1920. Ovoid body with shaped shoulder and short waisted neck. Band of stylised floral and foliate design to upper body - executed using scraffito and painted techniques. Rich olive-green to neck and blue mottled lower body. Impressed Royal Doulton mark (used 1902-1922) and pattern number 7915. Monogrammed MB for Maud Bowden. The vase measures 14 cm in height and 14 cm maximum diameter.
This vase is in excellent original condition commensurate with age. No chips, cracks, crazing or restoration. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.

Maud Bowden was one of the longer serving Doulton Lambeth assistants – from c1903 when the elaborate designs of the Victorian period had changed into more simple tube-lined designs. She worked at Royal Doulton until 1937, when the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles were in decline. She was well regarded as a Senior Assistant - assisting many of the renown Doulton artists as well as completing her own designs. Viewing welcomed - please contact us in advance.
