A practical piece, this sturdy oak screw press is ideal for bookbinding or other craft activities such as flower pressing. It has two good-sized drawers below for storing accessories or the linen for which is was probably originally used.

Dating to circa 1800, this is made of oak and originates from Wales.

In good sturdy age-related condition, this has only the marks expected from regular use, with some staining to the uppermost surface. The screw is in good condition with no chips and the top fits squarely to the base, giving a good press.
