Late 15th C Quillon Dagger.
Bronze pommel and guard, steel blade, carved bone grip.
Fine river found condition in the River Thames, Queenhithe, in 1961.
Professionally conserved in 1960s.
Totally stable. The bone handle has a long age crack through shrinkage of the bone over the centuries. The blade shows signs of use.
From an old collection.
30cm long. 195g. This item is available to view at the Red House Antiques Centre in York.
