This was originally an early GPO 162. It has been upgraded over its lifetime to have modern 1950s internals and so producing great speech quality not achievable on the very early internals. It also has a GPO No26 bellset internals and and retains its GPO handset dated 1932. It has a lovely enamel faced no 10 dial with only some minor rubbing to the No1. The handset has some slight browning but polished to a lovely finish. This telephone has been totally stripped down and rebuilt after each part has been cleaned and polished. It is fitted with a very best quality hand plaited all British manufactured handset cord, a GPO specification round plastic line in cord with a UK telephone plug socket. It has its original base with no drawer as this model was first designed with. I can make a dial label with your information at no extra charge. This is ready to plug in and go and has a beautiful double gong ring.
