1827 pattern Rifle Volunteers Officers sword
1827 pattern Rifle Volunteers Officers sword by Hawkes. In a steel scabbard and numbered on the spine "540". Has a pierced guard with the Rifles logo and a silver wire bound shagreen grip. Has a slightly curved good acid etched blade, with Rifles logo, etched "Rifle Volunteers" and with a family crest etched into blade. Sword is marked a by "Hawkes & Co, London, Manufacturers to the ????". Acid etched blade has original finish but some slight rust staining. Has one small dent to scabbard.
Approximately 98cm overall and blade length 82.5cm.
