A fantastic brass trench art jardiniere made from a German First World War shell case manufactured by Polte Werk in Magdeburg. Beautifully decorated with floral sprigs and blooms with a decorative scalloped rim, this is an excellent example of trench art. It is larger than many of the typical pieces, such as vases, ashtrays etc and is an unusual and very useable decorative piece.
Dated and marked to the underside.
