WW11 German Nazi Bronze Naval Medallion,1939
Interesting WW11 German bronze military medallion, dated 1939. Heavily decorated and inscribed on one side with a Swastika and sword within a laurel wreath, it is marked ' Dritter Preis'. The other side shows an imperial Eagle holding a laurel wreath and Swastika. It is marked around the edge 'Reichwettkampfe Der Marine Sakiel 1939'. Roughly translated it refers to 3rd price in a Naval competition held in 1939. The bronze has taken on good colour/patina following years of handling. Overall condition is good in line with use.
