Exceptional mid 19th.c. wine table by the great British cabinet makers Gillows of Lancaster c.1840. Of the highest quality, in goncarlo alvez a South American exotic hardwood with a similar appearance to rosewood. 21″ x 26″ top with goncarlo veneers laid in a symmetrical pattern onto solid mahogany groundwork, with a deep gadroon carved edge and crossbanded apron. Raised on a solid turned column and tripod base with beautiful carved acanthus detail to the feet. Stamped Gillows Lancaster on the underside. Excellent colour and condition.
