Circa 1840, William IV mahogany kneehole writing desk. The rectangular top with quality gilt-tooled green hide surface over central frieze drawers with mouldings and finely turned original knobs. With a shelf cupboard flanked by banks of graduated matching drawers with flat pilasters on each side, all on an enclosed plinth base. Elm lined drawers (sign of quality) bearing a label (probably later retailer) of ‘Spillman & Co, St. Martin’s Lane, London’.
