Whitehurst of Derby 8 day Longcase
Whitehurst & Son Of Derby 8 day Longcase antique clock Circa 1830.
A very fine example by this famious clock making family of clock makers who were working in Derby for a century .Much has been writain by this clock making family in the book Clockmakers and watchmakers of Derbyshire by Hughes and Craven.
This example like many of their antique clocks has a round painted dial and a similar clock can be seen in Derby museum .
The workmanship of both movement and case is of a very high standard and after almost 200 years this clock is in perfect condition . The case is mainly oak and in perfect condition . Movement has been recently serviced .
