Welsh Pine Tavern Box Settle c1880
A beautiful late 19th Century Welsh pine Box Settle of gorgeous traditional form. Constructed form the most wonderfully grained pine with a strong frame, displaying the most beautiful warm and nutty colour throughout. Originating from North Carmarthenshire.
In stunning original condition with lovely colour, having a gently sloping back and comfortable seat height. The seat opening into a box base offering superb storage.
A much sought after piece of Welsh country antique furniture this settle is both strong and stable and suitable for daily use. With historically replaced base boards inside the box this pretty settle is in excellent order.
We are well known for the quality of the settles we sell, they are highly practical items and look as well in a hall or kitchen as they do in a living room or parlor. We often sell them to people looking for attractive storage solutions as well as seating and they are most commonly used for storing itmes such as wellingtons and walking boots, kindling and fires starting items, horse riding tack, painting and decorating and odd job items that may freeze or perish if left in an outbuilding.
