Welsh Oak Pot Board Dresser c1830
A truly exceptional and very pretty Welsh oak Pot-board Dresser c1830. This beautiful dresser was purchased from a farmhouse in the upper Towey Valley in the foothills of Brechfa Forest north Carmarthenshire, a region renown for their simple, beautifully crafted dressers. Having perfect proportions, quality timber and a refreshing unpretentious look.
This is without doubt one of the best example of a dresser from this region that we have seen in a long while. Condition is superb throughout right down to each individual blacksmith made hand forged hook. With not a dowel or nail out of place, the highly sought after softer colour is breathtaking. It stands at full original height, is superbly solid and stands level and true. All drawers having original turned rosewood handles run smoothly and are all clean inside.
A better example of a Welsh dresser of its type would be hard to find, a very nice A truly exceptional Welsh oak Pot-board Dresser c1800. A traditional Ceredigion dresser renown for their simple beauty created by perfect proportions, quality timber and unique understated look. Without doubt the best example of a dresser from this region that we have seen in a long while. Condition is superb throughout right down to each individual blacksmith made hand forged hook. With not a dowel or nail out of place, the colour, patina and skin are breathtaking. It stands at full original height, is superbly solid and sturdy and stands level and true. All drawers with later quality period brass handles run smoothly and are all clean and tidy inside.
