Early 19th.c. oak South Wales dresser base c.1810. Solid oak top with a raised plate stand at the back and shaped sides. Five drawers arranged around an arched apron. Cockbeaded drawer fronts with period oversized brass hoop handles and backplates. Note how the cockbeading is repeated to decorative effect over the arch and along the bottom of the apron. Very nicely turned front stiles joined to the straight rear stiles with a long oak stretcher shelf or potboard with a shaped front edge. Solid oak sides. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
