Waterford Cut Crystal Quality Table Lamp Rewired
We are pleased to offer this Waterford Cut Crystal Electric Table/Hurricane Lamp, which is in two parts, the shade and the base. This lamp has been discontinued by Waterford and is no longer available. It was part of the Inishmaan collection, sometimes called Inishmore, and bears the etched Waterford mark, as shown. This is the smaller size of these lamps, the L2.
Waterford Crystal was first established in 1783 on land adjacent to Merchants' Quay in the heart of the Irish harbour town of Waterford, just minutes from the present-day House of Waterford Crystal. Its founders were brothers George and William Penrose, important developers and principal exporters in the city. Their vision was to "create the finest quality crystal for drinking vessels and objects of beauty for the home." More than two hundred years later, the reputation they established for creating luxury crystal of unsurpassed beauty and quality has transcended the intervening centuries.
The shade has a flared open top and sits neatly within the rim at the top of the base section. The cut on the shade we would describe as large hobnail on the bottom half and small hobnail on the upper. The base has the large hobnail round the bottom and the rim that holds the shade, and the small hobnail on the central socle.
The lamp has been rewired in braided fabric covered three core flex and has new bulbholder, 3 amp plug and inline switch. As with all electrical items, it is recommended that it be checked by a qualified electrician before use.
Height: 13 3/4 inches - 34.85cm
Diameter: 6 1/2 inches - 16.5cm
Diameter of base: 5 inches - 12.7cm
Condition: Excellent. There is no damage to the glass, no chips, frits or cracks. The wiring and fittings are new.
