This is a beautiful wedding themed fully hallmarked sterling silver charm bracelet. A traditional double curb bracelet with two interlocking curbs the whole way round. The charms are vintage English sterling silver and much more detailed than modern charms. It is larger than the standard size - measuring 7 7/8th inches when closed. The curb height is 0.8 cm. The maker's mark can be seen clearly on the heart padlock " R B LTD " & also " lion passant (sterling silver) leopard's head (London assayed) and B (1976). The chain is also hallmarked lion passant in various places and also " R B LTD lion passant leopard's head ". As you can see the clasp is the traditional heart shaped in the style of a padlock. Charm bracelets were often added to during the life of the owner to mark weddings, births, deaths, where people went on holidays & memorable events. This vintage charm bracelet is wedding themed making it highly collectible.
The charms are all sterling silver and are shown as follows:
A church charm.
A spinner charm which shows " HAPPY DAYS " when it is spun.
A baby in crib.
An ancient washing machine with a mangle on it.
A Scotsman playing the bagpipes.
A chalice to toast the health of the happy couple.
A boot - it was traditional to throw your shoe / boot at the couple as they were leaving the church.
It was considered to bring good luck if the foot wear hit the couple's carriage (or them!)
A basket of flowers.
All of the charms are sterling silver & in excellent condition.
The charm bracelet is larger than standard, measuring 7 7/8 inches when closed and weighs 42.4 grams.
