Victorian Naval sword by Matthews Portsea
Victorian Naval sword by Matthews Portsea in it's original black leather scabbard with brass mounts. Has a cast brass hilt with gothic guard and lion pommel. Has a shagreen copper wire bound grip. Single edged blade acid etched with coat of arms, fowled anchor and foliage. Has a folding brass guard. Scabbard and blade marked Matthews & Company Queens St, Portsea. In good, sound overall condition with slight rust staining to blade.
Approximately 92cm overall and blade 77.5cm.
