This is a pretty little period piece. It is a window seat or prayer stool. The stool is Victorian or possibly earlier. It stands on six straight legs, the outside front ones being chamfered. The stool apron is inlaid with box wood stringing and the moulded edges are ebonised. The seat is embroidered in original bead work.

The stool is in good condition. Legs strong. No sign or worm or damage. The upholstery is original and shows age and wear but that is its charm and you wouldn't want to recover it.

This is a pretty furnishing piece for a principal room. It would look good as a window seat or to sit in front of a fireplace when the fire isn't lit! Good thing.

The stool is 43 inches long and 18 inches high and 8 inches deep.
