Victorian inlaid walnut Davenport desk
This Victorian inlaid walnut Davenport desk was made circa 1870.
Smothered in fine marquetry to all surfaces including the rear as well as the sloping lid, this Davenport desk is not only the best colour you could hope for, but also highly decorative and a real showpiece.
The slope lifts to reveal a maple lined interior that is fitted 3 working drawers and 3 faux drawers. There is a brass stay that lifts into place so that the lid can be left up at different angles.
It has a brass gallery
To each side of the kneehole are a pair of solid carved tapering columns, with turned feet and castors under.
