Victorian Inlaid Mahogany Fold-Open Sewing Cabinet

This lovely antique sewing cabinet dates from c.1890-1900. It is constructed from solid mahogany with boxwood inlays. The cabinet has a hinged fold-open top with a large recesss inside. It may originally have had a tray at the top, which is now missing. One half of the top has a small well on the inside. The storage part of the cabinet is fabric. The cabinet is supported on swept tapering legs with an H-stretcher.
Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. There may originally have been a tray at the top, which is now missing. There is some damage to one of the hinges. There is some marking to the top. The fabric storage compartment is worn and faded and has some holing.
