A very pretty unusually small sized, country made, George 111 period, mahogany bureau. This appears to have been made for a child as the writing height is only 22”(56cms). It stands on its original well shaped bracket feet, with three drawers above. The writing slope, which has a working key, is lowered to reveal a very full and busy interior. This lovely little bureau has its old polished surface showing a few small repairs but is generally is in excellent strong condition. The brass drawer handles and escutcheons are mainly original with a couple of old replacements. Sizes:28”(72cms) wide, 16”(40cms) deep, 31”(79cms) high. Writing height: 22”(56cms). Date circa 1780. I have reluctantly decided that after 60 years spent in this marvellous business it is, figuratively speaking, time to hang up my cheque book.
