US Army of occupation Medal.
This military award was created in the aftermath of World War II to recognise those who had performed occupation service in either Austria, Germany, Italy or Japan.
To qualify for the award the recipient had to have served 30 or more consecutive days of military duty in one of the designated areas of military occupation.
The medal is not engraved to any named recipient.
The medal is full size and measures approximately 3 cm (1.25") in diameter.
