Circa 1820, an unusual Dutch marquetry inlaid chest. The chest is walnut on an oak carcass, inlaid with satinwood, boxwood and tulipwood. The narrow rectangular top with its marquetry panels is hinged and opens to reveal a felt lined interior and a small well. Below the top is a frieze with floral marquetry and 3 drawers which are graduating. Both gables are also smothered in marquetry. The piece stands on 4 profusely inlaid bracket feet. Neat size, wonderful chest of drawers.
