Such a beautiful gleaming clean and unused powder compact which comes with the original presentation box, pouch and sifter. The makers, Laughton & Sons Ltd., named this model the Stratton "Mini-Convertible" compact mirror. The lid has a gilt textured (granulated) background which contrasts perfectly with the ornate scroll work making this a very attractive compact. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The mirror is good and gives an accurate reflection. The base is decorated with vertical lines & chevrons & signed "Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND". The compact comes with a pristine foam puff - ready to use. This accessory was coated at the point of manufacture with a layer of transparent enamel which means it will never tarnish or need to be cleaned. This vintage compact measures 3" & weighs 74.2 grams.This compact is suitable for use all types of loose face powder as well as pressed / solid powder with standard powder pans.
