Unused Stratton Arabian Polo Player Powder Compact
A splendid unused Stratton Persian themed Pontoon powder compact which is suitable for use with loose foundation, as a cherished collectible or handbag mirror. The Pontoon has only three known years of availability - 1948, 1952 and 1953.
Some of the earlier models were enamelled and not lacquered. You can run your fingers over the lids and feel that it is indeed enamel and not a transfer. Our favourite ones are those which are enamelled and lacquered.
This compact is enamelled and lacquered. The lacquer has ensured that the lid decorations are in tact. There isn't any loss of enamel. The coat of lacquer also prevents the brass from tarnishing. This compact will not require any cleaning.
This is the best Persian themed Stratton Pontoon we have ever found!
The horsemen are playing polo on a gleaming golden background. The inner lid has a beautiful golden lacquered finish. This compact has the original felt lining in the powder well which means no sifter is needed. The original gorgeous royal blue felt pouch, puff and presentation box are present. The compact is in superb unused condition. The catches and hinges work exactly as they should. The mirror gives a good clear reflection. The mirror frame is signed STRATTON MADE IN ENGLAND. Measures 3 inches long x 2 1/2 inches wide. Weighs 103.4 grams.
