Thomas Gorsuch of Salop (Shropshire ) English Oak grandfather %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
An early Longcase antique clock by Thomas Gorsuch of salop otherwise now called Shrewsbury. This very fine 8 day oak Longcase is of a good size for most homes as it is shortish in height and quite slim . The maker is well documented and his work is of a very good standard judging from the quality of this 8 day movement which is of a large size and has 5 pillars. With a beautifully engraved silvered brass dial and good quality blued steel hands. It has seconds dial and a round date box to match the ringed winding holes.
The well made oak case with mahogany cross banding has what appears to be its original finish and is a lovely deep red colour. It's well constructed by a fine cabinet maker.
The movement was recently serviced and so is in good running order.
