Very stylish antique Swedish Biedermeier chest of drawers in satin birch, with ebonised columns & feet. It’s in very good original condition & I would date it to around the 1850’s period, give or take 20 years. The satin birch has wonderful figuring within the grains, which is typical of this wood. The drawers which are finely dovetailed, have locks & keys. This piece would work well in many locations in the home & not just the bedroom. It’s just come over from Sweden & been polished. There is some evidence of woodworm from long ago, but it’s not live, but we still had it treated. It looks like it was treated 100 years ago. Either way, the finish is wonderful & it has plenty of character.
