Superb Sheraton Revival Desk
A very good quality figured mahogany and inlaid kneehole desk. Standing on 6 square tapered legs with boxwood line inlay and original brass square cup castors. This desk has 7 graduated drawers with satinwood banding, boxwood and ebony stringing and the centres are inlaid with harebells, scrolls and foliage all worked in satinwood. Still retaining all the original cast brass handles, locks and escutcheons (with keys). The styles inlaid with typical Sheraton style ovals and graduated harebells. The pedestal supports with wonderful shell inlaid corner brackets. The freestanding back and sides outlined with further satinwood banding and line inlay. The top with satinwood cross banding, box and ebony line inlay and replaced writing surface with hand dyed green leather with gold and blind tooling. Probably made by Edwards & Roberts but not marked. In A1 condition and mahogany lined. 2 man delivery to most of U.K. £75. Sizes- Width...48''...122cm. Depth...24.75''...63cm Height.29.75''...75.5cm.
