Superb Quality Reproduction Regency Library Table
A SUPERB QUALITY VINTAGE REPRODUCTION LIBRARY TABLE.
An exquisite vintage/antique reproduction Regency style partner's library table. Not to be confused with inferior, modern and cheaply-produced examples, this is a high-end piece, built to a very high standard.
The rectangular top, with beautifully outstepped, lobed corners holds four drawers (two on each side) and is supported on tapering, reeded and turned legs which terminate on period brass and stoneware castors. The upper surface is inset with quality dark leather with contrasting gilded greek key tooling and embossed designs. The drawers are of dovetail construction and have raised cock beading the faces. The handles are of nicely cast brass.
The carcass, legs and drawers are all from solid timers. The perimeter of the upper surface is from quality, thick, cross-banded veneer. This is a reassuringly heavy piece but moves freely on it's castors.
This table has a great shape and is particularly well proportioned. It's medium size makes it highly practical. A great place at which to sit, read and study, it would double equally well as a computer desk, positioned centrally, away from a wall.
