Sorrento Walnut And Marquetry Low Pedestal Table
Super decorative Sorrento marquetry and inlaid pale walnut low pedestal side table or coffee table, circa 1900.
Beautifully made and a piece of art in my opinion, the marquetry top is mesmerising! Finished to the edge with chevron Inlays.
The turned pedestal base is further inlaid as are the three splayed legs. Originally, the table would have been taller, so it has been lowered at some point, but the height now makes it ideal for a lamp table or coffee table height.
Good condition and well finished.
Measuring:
23 1/2 inches or 60 cm high
31 1/2 inches or 80 cm diameter Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
Viewing here in Uppingham is very welcome in my spacious barn studio but also I have a showroom based within the Uppingham Antiques Centre, which is well worth a visit and have a good lunch in town too!
