SOLD A Good Mid 18th Century Longcase Clock with 8 day movement, by Robert Cawley of Chester, with a finely proportioned Oak case crossbanded throughout in Mahogany, the hood with architectural Pediment of early form. Circa 1750. NB The Movement completely overhauled Nov 08. HISTORICAL NOTEThe Cawley family of clockmakers, Roberts I, II & III, spanned the 18th Century in Chester, and this antique clock is almost certainly by Robert II.
