Small Welsh Oak Potboard Dresser c1780
A super rare and very sweet little 4ft Welsh oak Pot-board cottage dresser from the Tregaron in the remote Cambrian Hills Ceredigion c1780.
A highly sought after traditional West Wales dresser renown for their simple beauty created by perfect proportions, quality timber and unique understated look. This is without doubt one of the best example of a dresser from this region that we have seen in a long while. Condition is superb throughout right down to each individual cast hook. With not a dowel or nail out of place, the colour, patina and skin are breathtaking. It stands at full original height, is superbly solid and sturdy and stands level and true. All drawers run smoothly and are all clean inside.
A better example of a Welsh dresser of its type would be hard to find, a super little dresser indeed.
Length 4ft 2.5” = 128cm. Height 6ft = 182cm. Base Height 34” = 86cm. Base Depth 19” = 48cm. Maximum width at very top 4ft 4” = 131cm
This lovely dresser comes in two parts for easy transportation.
