Small Victorian Mahogany Cabinet. 2 Door Cupboard
This is a very nice quality mid Victorian 2 door cabinet of notable small size.
Made of solid mahogany, it has panelled doors, rounded edges to the sides and a plinth base.
Inside there are 2 fixed shelves. Shelf space heights are 6inches, 10 inches, and 8 inches respectively from the top.
Small antique cabinets of this type and size are really quite rare to find.
They are extremely versatile and can be used throughout the home. It would be ideal as a bed side cabinet of course or work equally well at the end of a sofa or in a dining room for table accessories.
The shelf positions are fixed but could be changed for example to take bottles and drinking glasses
Condition - Very good throughout.
There is an old patch repair to the back corner of the top in matched mahogany.
Originally the left hand door would have been secured by a 'hook and eye' and the right hand door would have closed on to the left door by a turn catch on the inside of the knob. Now there is a contemporary magnetic catch which works really well.
