Delightful little Queen Anne style walnut kneehole desk c.1890. Just 31″ wide with a folding desk top over two long drawers and four small drawers arranged around a central recessed cupboard. Unusually the top opens to make a good sized writing surface supported on two sliding loafers. Beautifully figured burr walnut veneers across the top, front and sides. With yew wood oyster veneered border to the top (repeated on the opened leaves as well) and yew wood crossbanding to the drawer fronts and sides. Cockbeaded drawer fronts with original brass handles. Thumb moulding around the base and raised on tall bracket feet front and rear. Superior quality with oak carcass, drawer linings and backboards. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Key supplied for the kneehole cupboard.
